This is a short film made by Big hART Gold participant Paul Simpson. Paul wrote, directed, shot and edited ‘The Death and Life of a Flower’ over a few days. Paul had the help of Sayward, Carlie and Kate who crewed in acting, photography and art department.

Gold Participant:Robert (Young Person - Griffith)

On Monday 31st March 2008 I went to my hometown of Kamarah where I lived when I was born. About 5 years ago the house was burnt down and my Dad had to move to Goulburn. More to the point I was very sad because that was my favorite place in the world.

I went there with Davo, Paul and James to be interviewed about the house and screen at the “Egg” park in Griffith for a homelessness exhibition for youth week 2008.

Paul - The Living Library Book

Paul participated in a great project on the weekend. It was the Living Library project at Griffith Library.

He became a “living library book” a day. Anyone that came in to the library could talk to him about his life.
